Job summary

Midea America Corp. is seeking an enthusiastic student to join the HR Operations team in Parsippany, NJ, for a 3–4 month project-based internship with 20–40 hours per week.

You will help with onboarding/offboarding coordination, data integrity, and reporting while learning about HR systems and processes. You will own a small end-to-end work item, such as a data quality audit or onboarding process map, and present it to the HR team at week four.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a degree in Human Resources, Business, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Information Systems, Data Analytics or a related field.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Strong attention to detail and judgment to raise inconsistencies.
• Effective written and verbal communication with the ability to ask clarifying questions.

Responsibilities

• Support onboarding and offboarding coordination—scheduling, documentation preparation, and follow-through for every incoming and departing employee.
• Conduct data audits across HR systems and document discrepancies, supporting root-cause resolution with HR Operations.
• Maintain HR process documentation and SOPs to ensure auditable, up-to-date processes.
• Track HR invoices, vendor records, and program logistics against budget and terms.
• Prepare and validate reports from HR systems, escalate anomalies and data-quality issues.

What you will do

• Support onboarding and offboarding coordination — scheduling, documentation preparation and follow-through on outstanding actions — ensuring a consistent and timely experience for every incoming and departing employee
• Conduct data audits across our HR systems, identifying and documenting discrepancies between records and supporting root-cause resolution with the HR Operations team
• Maintain HR process documentation and standard operating procedures, so that processes, decisions and updates are captured accurately, remain auditable, and support business continuity
• Track HR invoices, vendor records and program logistics against budget and agreed service terms
• Prepare and validate reports from our HR systems, escalating anomalies and data-quality issues for review
• Collect and summarize employee feedback on our internal people products, including the career development hub and learning platform, to inform enhancement priorities
• Other duties assigned

Your project

Alongside the day-to-day, you will own one piece of work end to end and present it to the HR team at the end of your term. We will scope it with you in week one based on what you want to get better at — likely candidates are a data quality audit of a core HR record, a documented process map for onboarding, or a user research write-up on one of our internal tools. It will be real, and we will use it.

What we are looking for

• Currently pursuing a degree in Human Resources, Business, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Information Systems, Data Analytics or a related field
• Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Strong attention to detail, with the judgment to raise inconsistencies rather than resolve them by assumption
• Effective written and verbal communication, with the confidence to ask clarifying questions and work productively where requirements are not fully defined

Details and Benefits:

• Location: 5 days onsite /Parsippany, NJ
• Period: 03 to 04 months / 20hrs to 40hrs. per week depending on academic hours
• Currently enrolled student + graduating 2027/2028
• Compensation $18-$21 per hour
