Job summary

Project Harmony in Omaha seeks an experienced HR Manager to lead HR operations and compliance, including policies, employee relations, payroll controls, data integrity, and audits. As a strategic partner to the Chief Operating Officer, you will ensure lawful, efficient HR practices aligned with our mission to support child abuse victims and families while upholding confidentiality and high standards.

Eligible candidates typically bring 7+ years in HR, a Bachelor’s in HR or related field, and

Qualifications

• Requires Bachelor's degree in HR, business admin, public admin, or related field.
• HR certification (SPHR/PHR/SHRM-SCP/SHRM-CP) preferred but not required.
• 7+ years of progressive HR experience including operations, compliance, and payroll.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and maintain compliant practices.
• Develop, implement, and review HR policies to meet legal and organizational needs.
• Lead employee relations, disciplinary actions, investigations, and maintain confidentiality.
• Analyze HR data and metrics to support decision-making and continuous improvement.
• Oversee HRIS data integrity and collaborate on payroll operations, audits, and leave administration.
• Support leave and accommodation processes under FMLA, ADA/ADAA, STD/LTD, and workers’ comp.
• Audit HR processes and controls; advise leaders to ensure consistent policy application and risk mitigation.
• Maintain collaborations with COOs and org leaders to ensure efficient HR processes across functions.
