Job summary

VOALA, Volunteers of America Los Angeles, is seeking an HR Assistant to join the HR Service Team in Los Angeles. You will support onboarding, triage calls, and general administrative tasks to help employment processes run smoothly.

Candidates should pass fingerprint background checks, have a High School diploma or GED, and preferably experience with HR systems like UltiPro; bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.

Qualifications

• Fingerprint clearance and background checks required.
• Ability to handle emotional stress and challenging clients.
• High School or GED plus some college coursework in HR/Business.
• Experience in a Human Resources role is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Triage incoming calls and direct to appropriate HR support.
• Assist with onboarding and new employee orientation.
• Identify and organize documents for electronic archiving and data entry.
• Assist with processing employment verifications.
• Assist with resignation/termination workflows and updating logs.
• Other duties as assigned.
