Job summary

Safe Place in Zion, IL seeks an experienced HR Manager to be the main point of contact for employees and managers. This role reports to the CEO and ensures HR practices comply with employment law and organizational policies for a staff of about 80.

You will lead employee relations, recruitment, onboarding, compliance, performance management and benefits administration, promoting a positive workplace culture and scalable HR processes for a nonprofit.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Human Resources.
• Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR policies.
• Experience in a nonprofit setting is a plus.
• SHRM-CP or PHR certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coach and advise senior leadership on HR strategy and best practices.
• Review policies for compliance with federal, state, and local laws.
• Oversee recruitment, onboarding and interview processes.
• Lead performance reviews and compensation reviews.
• Administer benefits programs and HRIS data integrity.
• Support training, development, and leadership initiatives.
• Manage LMS and staff training assignments.
• Handle employee separations and exit interviews.
