Job summary

United Ground Express, Inc. is seeking a Manager of Human Resources to lead a team focused on employee relations and labor relations, including investigations and contract negotiations. You will coach leaders and HR staff, support orientation programs, and drive initiatives for engagement and inclusion.

The role requires 4–7 years HR experience, strong policy knowledge, and travel up to 25%. A background in California employment law is preferred. UGE offers robust benefits and a path for growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in HR, LR, Business Admin or related field; HR certifications preferred.
• 4-7 years of Human Resources or relevant experience.
• Knowledge of labor laws (RLA, FMLA, ADA, FLSA, Title VII, etc.).
• Strong investigative, conflict resolution, and mediation skills.
• Ability to travel 25% to support site locations.
• Experience applying California employment law and state regulations.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of ER/LR HR professionals handling investigations, employee relations, and labor relations.
• Coach leadership and HR staff on policy, compliance, and best practices in union and non-union environments.
• Lead new employee orientation and training programs.
• Promote employee engagement, diversity and inclusion.
• Provide guidance on labor law, union contracts, and grievance processes.
• Oversee documentation: investigation notes, reports and actions taken.
• Ensure timely, thorough, and legally sound investigations.
• Monitor HR metrics and set team goals.
• Support policy interpretation with Legal & Compliance teams.
