Job summary

UC Davis Continuing and Professional Education (CPE) seeks Development/Content Instructors to create an online self-study learning experience for a Coursera specialization in Human Resources. The work is a ‘work for hire’ focused on building the course product with a planning timeline agreed upon by all parties.

You will be the principal subject matter expert, translating complex HR concepts into engaging content for a global audience, and collaborating with staff and instructional designers to

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, or closely related field.
• Minimum 5+ years of applied HR experience across multiple functional areas.
• Current HR certification (SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP, PHR/SPHR, or equivalent).
• Proficiency with HRIS platforms and HR analytics tools (Excel, dashboards, reporting).
• Experience authoring training or curriculum development for adults, online or self-paced learning.
• Comfort with labs, simulations, or virtual environments for learner engagement.

Responsibilities

• Create curriculum and author all online learning assets for the course.
• Serve as principal subject matter expert for the offering.
• Collaborate with instructional designers, video producers, and platform teams to deliver a high-quality online course.
