Job summary

University of California, Davis is seeking a Content/Development Instructor to help design an online UC Davis CPE Professional Certificate in Virtual Design and Construction. You will develop curricula matrices and guide the program design in collaboration with Learning Experience Designers.

The role emphasizes industry credibility, trades experience, and ability to translate complex VDC concepts for career changers and early career learners. It is a part-time, exempt by-agreement appointment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in architecture, engineering, construction management, or adjacent field.
• 10+ years of applied VDC with emphasis on model coordination and permit-ready packages.
• Hands-on experience in trades (plumbing, electrical, HVAC).
• Knowledge of Northern California VDC regulations and standards work.
• Autodesk Certified Professional (Revit Mech/Elect).
• University or extension teaching experience.
• Collaborate with instructional designers and cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Create the curricula matrix for the full professional program.
• Review UC Davis CPE proposals and advise on product types and courses.
• Guide design, prerequisites, target market, and course structure.
• Collaborate with LxD on learning architecture and assessment strategies.
