Job description

We are seeking a highly analytical and forward-thinking Human Resources and Operations Subject Matter Expert (SME) to develop and maintain high-quality online course content for a 16-course (each 1 to 3 hours long) certificate program. The ideal candidate possesses deep expertise in talent analytics, organizational design, labor market trends, and long-term human capital strategy. We are looking for a professional who can translate complex data-driven workforce strategies into engaging, accessible learning experiences for HR leaders and business executives.

This role involves collaborating with instructional designers, content developers, and technical teams to create compelling course materials, assessments, and real-world planning scenarios, ensuring all content is strategically sound and industry-aligned.

Responsibilities
  • Discovery & Validation: Review and validate existing Job Task Analysis (JTA) documents to ensure alignment between course content, industry requirements for workforce planners, and career outcomes. Assess and validate Coursera’s In-Demand Topic (IDT) framework for Strategic Workforce Planning titles to ensure focus on critical areas like gap analysis, succession planning, and AI-driven talent forecasting. Critically review and validate the Coursera-created Content Outline, ensuring cohesion and relevance to learning objectives.
  • Content Development & AI Validation: Evaluate AI-generated content, including reading materials, talking head lecture scripts, and screencasts for technical accuracy regarding HR metrics and forecasting models. Enhance course materials by adding relevant anecdotes and real-world examples (e.g., managing large-scale restructuring, addressing skill shortages, or implementing hybrid work models) to engage learners effectively. Review and validate content for “add-on” modules, including career resource materials such as "Day-in-the-Life" videos for Workforce Strategists and AI literacy modules for HR analytics. Support the creation of slide decks and demonstration videos for any software, as needed.
  • Multimedia & Instructional Production: Capture screencast videos as required for instructional purposes, such as demonstrating how to use workforce modeling software, headcount-tracking dashboards, or Excel-based supply-and-demand models. Create datasets and planning templates for practical activities and labs to ensure learners have hands‑on opportunities to apply strategic planning concepts.
  • Assessment Design: Develop formative and summative assessments, including quizzes, exams, and AI‑graded hands‑on assignments, ensuring alignment with Bloom’s Taxonomy. Review formative assessment items for accuracy, currency, alignment with learning objectives, and consistency with course instructional content. Develop practical scenarios. Develop hands‑on learning/practice activities, as well as lab activities (if required), along with the required data set and documentation, using the appropriate templates.
  • Capstone Integration: Contribute to the design and validation of Capstone projects that synthesize the program’s learning objectives.
  • Quality Assurance: Review demo video scripts and storyboards.
  • Feedback Integration: Support the implementation of client and stakeholder feedback to ensure content accuracy.
Qualifications
  • Education: Master’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration (MBA), Industrial‑Organizational Psychology, or a related field.
  • Experience: Proven track record in strategic HR roles, talent management, or organizational design at an enterprise level.
  • Certifications: Professional credentials such as SHRM‑SCP, SPHR, or specialized People Analytics certifications are highly preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Deep proficiency in Workforce Modeling (Supply/Demand forecasting) and Succession Planning. Strong foundation in People Analytics, including turnover analysis, cost‑per‑hire, and productivity metrics. Familiarity with HRIS and ERP systems (e.g., Workday, SAP SuccessFactors, Oracle) and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
  • Essential Skills: Attention to detail to produce error‑free technical content regarding tax and deductions. Previous experience in training or educational roles is a plus. Experienced in writing instructional materials and online course development.
Course Development Skills
  • Proven experience writing instructional materials and developing online course content.
  • Ability to review and edit AI‑generated technical content for accuracy and professional tone.
  • Experience with screencasting software and creating datasets for business‑oriented labs.
  • Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and instructional design frameworks like "backward design."
  • Proficiency in Google Suite for collaborative document review and feedback.
