Job summary

Five Rivers MetroParks is seeking an experienced HR leader to manage day-to-day HR operations and provide strategic direction in talent management, employee relations, recruitment, volunteer administration, and training across the agency. The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in HR or related field with several years of progressive HR or volunteer management experience, including supervision.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in human resources management, public administration, or related field.
• Five years of progressively skilled experience in HR or volunteer management, including supervision of others.
• Valid Ohio Driver’s License or state-issued equivalent.
• Candidates must successfully complete a background check and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Provide guidance and consultation to supervisors and employees regarding HR policies, employment practices, and organizational procedures.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
• Develop recruitment strategies to attract qualified candidates; manage full-cycle recruitment and onboarding.
• Coordinate leave administration including FMLA, ADA accommodations, and other protected leaves.
• Oversee benefits enrollment and wellness, health, life, retirement, and disability programs.
• Administer volunteer management program; recruit, onboard, train, and recognize volunteers.
• Coordinate safety initiatives and workers' compensation claims; lead return-to-work programs.
• Develop and deliver agency training programs; manage LMS and training records.
• Investigate workplace injuries and conduct disciplinary processes when required.
• Maintain confidential personnel records and ensure data privacy.
• Advise supervisors on performance, coaching, and corrective actions.
