Job summary

Orbis Operations LLC in McLean, VA is seeking an HR Manager to lead the HR function, partner with the VP of Human Resources, and ensure accurate benefits, leave, and compliance across a multi-state workforce. The role emphasizes autonomy, strategic input, and hands-on execution.

You will oversee onboarding, payroll review, HRIS integrity, and employee relations with sound judgment. A hybrid schedule requires three on-site days per week in McLean, VA.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of progressive HR experience across payroll, benefits, leave, and compliance.
• People leadership experience including coaching and developing HR staff.
• Direct FMLA and multi-state leave program management.
• Hands-on HRIS experience for operations, data management, and reporting.
• Strong knowledge of federal and multi-state employment laws and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Senior HR Generalist and own end-to-end onboarding and offboarding processes.
• Oversee payroll accuracy, benefits, and compliance across the workforce.
• Manage HRIS data integrity and deliver recurring HR metrics to leadership.
• Support performance review cycles and letter generation for changes and bonuses.
• Advise managers on policy application and escalate employee relations issues when needed.
• Administer benefit programs and Open Enrollment planning and post-analysis.
• Ensure compliance with EEO, ACA, VETS-4212, and state-specific reporting.
• Maintain contractor onboarding and coordination with Finance for 1099s.
