Job summary

The Ohio Department of Job and Family Services (ODJFS) is seeking a Spring Human Resources Intern to gain hands-on experience in HR functions, recruitment, onboarding, payroll collaboration, and public service delivery. You will join the OEBS Talent Management team to support agency-wide HR initiatives and activities.

The position is part-time and on-site at 30 E. Broad St., Columbus, OH, with learning objectives across HR policies, full-cycle recruiting, performance management, and HR software

Qualifications

• Support the Bureau of Human Resources and learn HR functions.
• Collaborate with payroll, benefits, recruiting and onboarding teams.
• Develop skills in public service and HR policies.

Responsibilities

• Write and publish HR news articles on the agency intranet.
• Support HR managers with maintenance of HR programs.
• Coordinate employee events (e.g., orientations, workshops).
• Respond to inquiries from employees and the public.
• Assist with drafting and posting job openings.
• Participate in candidate outreach.
• Screen applications using Taleo.
• Assist in onboarding new hires and related tasks.
