Grace, a global chemical company, seeks an HR Generalist for its Curtis Bay, MD facility to support comprehensive HR operations and serve as a primary contact for plant personnel, partnering with site leadership on labor relations.

The role emphasizes daily HR operations, recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, and compliance with employment laws in a union environment. Strong collaboration with leadership and cross-functional teams is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or related field.
• 5+ years of progressive HR experience.
• Experience in a union manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of FLSA, HIPAA, Title VII, and related laws.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word/Excel/Outlook/PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Lead full lifecycle recruitment, onboarding, and retention for plant personnel.
• Support employee relations with investigations and conflict resolution.
• Attend monthly union meetings and document minutes.
• Provide daily coaching on policies, procedures and best practices.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.
• Partner with leadership on performance, attendance, and leaves.
• Analyze HR metrics to identify trends and drive improvements.
• Collaborate with administrative teams to track job progressions and updates.
• Enhance employee engagement and manage perks/benefits administration.
• Maintain accurate electronic and paper personnel files.
