Job summary

Sun Chemical seeks an experienced HR & Labor Generalist to serve as the primary HR partner for the Northlake, Illinois manufacturing facility, collaborating with operations leaders, employees, and union leadership to drive engagement, labor relations, talent development, and business success.

As the site HR leader, you will guide workforce planning, recruiting, retention, and succession initiatives, manage employee relations, investigations, and union negotiations, and ensure compliance with

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field.
• 3–5 years HR management experience, preferably in manufacturing.
• Experience in a unionized environment and labor relations.

Responsibilities

• Serve as site HR partner for the Northlake manufacturing facility.
• Lead workforce planning, recruiting, retention, and succession initiatives.
• Manage employee and labor relations and union liaison activities.
• Provide guidance on investigations, accommodations, and employment actions.
• Support exempt and professional recruiting and hiring efforts.
• Oversee grievances, job bidding, and collective bargaining administration.
• Participate in labor contract negotiations and proposal development.
• Drive employee engagement and development programs.
• Ensure compliance with employment laws and company policies.
• Represent Sun Chemical in community and industry activities.
