Job summary

NAVY EXCHANGE SERVICE COMMAND (NEXCOM) in Pensacola, FL is seeking a Human Resources Generalist to support HQ or a large local NEX activity. The role is performed under the guidance of the District HR Manager and is focused on HR operations, records, and staff support.

Responsibilities include maintaining HR records, recruitment planning, employee relations, benefits processing, training coordination, and new hire orientation.

Qualifications

• General Experience: 3 years in non-routine work enabling understanding of systems and administrative machinery, problem solving, and effective communication.
• Education substitution: 1 year of college may substitute 9 months of experience, up to a 4 year degree for 3 years of general experience.
• Specialized Experience: One year of responsible HR work applying rules, regulations, procedures and program requirements.

Responsibilities

• Maintains official HR records and privacy of data, compiles data and generates reports.
• Develops and implements recruitment plans to meet local and district needs and workforce diversity goals.
• Assists HR leadership with staffing, recruitment sources, and deployment of personnel.
• Participates in Compensation Program Administration, wage surveys, and salary schedules.
• Coordinates training sessions for managers on HR policies and procedures and guides employee relations issues.
• Provides orientation to new hires covering policies, benefits, and mandatory training.
• Coordinates award nominations, selections, and presentations.
• Plans development and training curriculum with management and assists in creating Individual Development Plans.
• Schedules daily HR office work and supervises staff performance.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
