Appalachian Agency For Senior Citizens, Inc. is seeking a Human Resource Generalist to support the Chief of HR in daily HR functions, including recruitment, onboarding, benefits administration, and policy enforcement.

The role requires strong communication, confidentiality, and knowledge of employment laws. You will interact with staff and managers to sustain compliant HR practices and support organizational goals.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in HR or related field preferred; high school diploma required.
• At least 1 year of HR management experience preferred.
• Proficiency with MS Office and HRIS systems.
• Familiarity with employment laws and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, interview, and hire staff with managers; collaborate to understand required skills.
• Conduct post-offer compliance checks (background, drug, driving records, eligibility).
• Coordinate new hire orientation and onboarding; prepare offer letters.
• Administer pay, benefits, and leave; handle disciplinary matters, disputes, and investigations.
• Maintain confidentiality and ensure compliance with laws and company policies.
• Assist with employee relations and participate in disciplinary meetings and investigations as needed.
