Job summary

Santa Maria Hostel in Houston is seeking a Human Resources Generalist to coordinate day-to-day HR functions with a strong emphasis on talent acquisition, recruitment, onboarding, and employee support. This role serves as the primary contact for employees and hiring managers, working closely with leadership and external HR partners to ensure responsive, compliant HR practices.

A primary focus is leading the recruitment process from position approval through onboarding, actively sourcing

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in HR, business, or related field preferred.
• Three to five years of HR experience strongly preferred.
• SHRM-CP, PHR, or other professional HR certification required, or in progress.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day recruitment through onboarding, coordinating with hiring managers.
• Partner with hiring managers to understand staffing needs, requirements and priorities.
• Create and maintain job postings, and manage ATS, candidate status and recruitment channels.
• Coordinate interviews and maintain regular communication with candidates and managers.
• Maintain confidential HR records and HR systems, and monitor training and compliance.
• Support benefits, leave administration, performance processes, and employee relations activities.
• Ensure professionalism, confidentiality and compliance across HR processes.
