Job summary

Hire Up Staffing Services is seeking an experienced HR Generalist for the PM shift in the South Fresno area. This full-time role runs Monday through Friday, 2:00 PM–11:00 PM in California, with pay at $22–$28+ per hour depending on experience.

You will be hands-on with employee relations, leaves, investigations, recruiting, onboarding, benefits, and California employment law compliance, supporting employees, supervisors, and management in a fast-paced production and office environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of HR experience required.
• Strong knowledge of California employment and labor laws.
• Experience with employee relations, investigations, leaves of absence, performance management, recruiting, benefits, and compliance.
• Bilingual English/Spanish required.
• Bachelor's degree in HR or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as PM shift HR contact for employees and supervisors.
• Support and administer HR policies, procedures, and employee programs.
• Handle employee relations, coaching, disciplinary actions, and grievances.
• Conduct workplace investigations with confidentiality and documentation.
• Administer leaves of absence (FMLA, CFRA, PDL, etc.).
• Assist with reasonable accommodations and interactive process.
• Manage recruiting: postings, resume screening, interviewing, offers.
• Conduct new-hire orientations and onboarding support.
• Administer and assist with benefits programs and records.
• Support performance management and coaching.

HR Generalist – PM Shift Location: South Fresno Area, CA Schedule: Monday–Friday, 2:00 PM–11:00 PM Pay: $22–$28+/hour, depending on experience Position: Full-Time We are seeking an experienced HR Generalist to support employees and leadership during the PM shift for a busy organization in the South Fresno area. This is a hands‑on HR position ideal for someone who is comfortable working directly with employees, supervisors, and management in a fast‑paced environment. The HR Generalist will serve as a primary HR resource during the evening shift, handling employee relations, leaves of absence, investigations, recruiting, onboarding, benefits, performance management, and California employment law compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary HR point of contact for PM shift employees and supervisors
• Support and administer HR policies, procedures, and employee programs
• Handle employee relations matters, including coaching, conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and grievances
• Conduct workplace investigations while maintaining confidentiality and appropriate documentation
• Administer leaves of absence, including FMLA, CFRA, PDL, and other applicable California leave programs
• Assist with reasonable accommodations and the interactive process
• Manage recruiting activities, including job postings, resume screening, interviewing, and coordinating offers
• Conduct new‑hire orientations and support the onboarding process
• Administer and assist employees with benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and employee assistance programs
• Maintain accurate and confidential employee records
• Support performance management, including evaluations, goal setting, coaching, and performance improvement plans
• Coordinate employee training and development
• Provide HR guidance to managers and supervisors
• Stay current on California and federal employment laws and help ensure company practices remain compliant
• Work directly with employees in office, production, and field environments as needed

Qualifications

• 3+ years of Human Resources experience required
• Strong working knowledge of California employment and labor laws
• Experience with employee relations, investigations, leaves of absence, performance management, recruiting, benefits, and compliance
• Bilingual English/Spanish required
• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred
• Advanced experience working with HRIS systems
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with employees at all levels
• Strong judgment, problem-solving, and decision‑making skills
• Ability to handle confidential and sensitive employee matters professionally
• Detail‑oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment
• Valid California driver's license and clean driving record may be required

Physical & Work Environment

This position combines traditional office HR responsibilities with interaction throughout production and field areas. Candidates should be comfortable sitting and working at a computer for extended periods as well as walking through operational areas. The position may occasionally require bending, reaching, lifting or carrying materials up to approximately 20 pounds, and traveling between work areas as needed.

Compensation

$22–$28+/hour DOE Compensation will be based on the candidate's depth of HR experience, particularly experience with California employee relations, investigations, leave administration, compliance, and HR support within a production or operational environment.
