Job summary

Six Degrees Search is partnering with a Wheaton, IL-based financial services firm to identify an HR / Business Manager who will lead hands-on HR activities, including recruiting, onboarding, and benefits administration. This is not a traditional people-management role, but a hands-on position for a self-starter working in a smaller organization.

The Opportunity focuses on building HR processes, supporting payroll and compliance, and collaborating with leadership on workforce planning.

Qualifications

• Approximately 3–10 years of progressive HR experience.
• Hands-on experience with recruiting, onboarding, and employee benefits administration.
• Experience or exposure within financial services, banking, insurance, mortgage, investment management, or a related industry is strongly preferred.
• Familiarity with HR systems, payroll processes, and employment compliance.
• Experience working with benefits brokers and insurance carriers is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Recruiting & Onboarding: Manage full-cycle recruiting, including job postings, candidate sourcing, screening, interviewing, and offer coordination.
• Benefits Administration & Employee Relations: Coordinate employee benefits programs, manage open enrollment, and work with brokers/ carriers.
• HR Operations & Process Improvement: Maintain HR systems and payroll coordination, develop and improve HR policies and workflows.
• Business & Office Operations: Support leadership with general business administration and operations.
