Job summary

Buckeye Corrugated, Inc. (BCI) is seeking an HR Generalist to administer daily HR functions, recruit staff, manage pay/benefits, and ensure policy compliance. This role supports HR and Accounting, with responsibility for data in UKG and coordination of wellness initiatives.

The successful candidate will have 2-5 years HR experience, an associate degree, and preferably SHRM certification. Occasional travel to Indianapolis may be required in a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2-5 years of professional-level HR experience, preferably in manufacturing.
• Associate degree in business administration, HR management or related field.
• SHRM or equivalent HR certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Administers the daily functions of HR, including recruiting, interviewing, pay, benefits, and leave.
• Enforces company policies and procedures and provides administrative support to Accounting.
• Maintains associate data in HRIS/Payroll system (UKG) and handles new-hire/termination checklists.
• Lead recruiting efforts for Wooster and Indianapolis, including occasional travel.
• Administers leaves of absence in collaboration with Division Controller.
• Processes unemployment and workers' compensation claims with insurer/state agency.
• Assists with on-boarding, performance reviews, training materials, and drug/alcohol screening.
• Coordinates wellness initiatives and annual health fair; supports recruitment and development.
• Ensures compliance with employment laws and HR policies; handles payroll scheduling and attendance records.
• Other duties as assigned; full-time role in an office/manufacturing setting.
