Job summary

McLane Company, Inc. in Georgia’s Athens area seeks an HR Generalist to coordinate daily HR functions, assist training, and ensure compliance with federal laws.

This role supports recruitment, onboarding, and HR programs across the organization. The position offers $70,000 per year, eligibility for a 10% annual incentive, day-one medical/dental/vision, and other benefits including life insurance, PTO, and tuition reimbursement.

Qualifications

• Have 2+ years experience in Human Resources.
• Hands-on experience in training and coaching.
• Understand safety practice guidelines.
• Strong MS Office skills including Word and Excel; PowerPoint useful; Peoplesoft experience preferred.
• Be able to identify and work through problems and conflicts diplomatically.
• Able to review and interpret data, policies, and business practices.
• Excellent verbal and written communication with teammates at all levels.

Responsibilities

• Assist and observe in training programs to comply with company practices and laws.
• Coordinate mandatory trainings (harassment, safety) and classes.
• Maintain uniform policies, relocation billing, FMLA records, workers comp and safety investigations; document and report as needed.
• Coordinate events such as CMN, United Way, Health Fairs, teammate parties, etc.
• Support HR Manager as needed.
• Ensure compliant employment processes and fair treatment of applicants.
• Manage requisitions and assist with recruitment strategies with managers.
