Van Zeeland Manufacturing, Inc. seeks an HR Generalist in Little Chute, Wisconsin. This hands-on role supports recruiting, onboarding, employee records, benefits, attendance, and safety compliance to keep HR operations running smoothly.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of HR experience, strong organizational and communication skills, and a commitment to confidentiality. Manufacturing experience is a plus and the position is on-site with full-time hours.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in Human Resources.
• Strong knowledge of HR practices, employment laws, and regulations.
• High level of discretion and ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Good problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Ability to work independently while also being a team player.
• Experience supporting a manufacturing workforce is a plus.
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Admin, or related field preferred.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office and basic ERP systems.

Responsibilities

• Handle day-to-day HR functions and employee needs.
• Maintain accurate and confidential employee records.
• Support recruiting efforts, including posting jobs, screening candidates, scheduling interviews, and reference checks.
• Coordinate new hire onboarding, including offer letters, screenings, paperwork, and orientation.
• Coordinate employee termination activities and COBRA administration.
• Administer employee benefits, including enrollments, changes, and terminations.
• Assist with 401(k) administrative requirements and disclosures.
• Manage workers’ compensation claims, leave, and return-to-work activities.
• Manage vacation administration and attendance tracking.
• Review Time & Attendance adjustments and schedule adherence.
• Assist with performance reviews, development plans, and training.
• Maintain SOP documentation and disciplinary records.
• Answer questions regarding HR policies, procedures, and benefits.
• Support employee engagement through communications, events, and recognition.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and policies.
• Assist with OSHA compliance and safety program activities.
