Job summary

Helix Traffic Solutions, LLC is seeking a seasoned HR and Payroll professional to manage payroll submissions, benefits enrollment, and HR administration in a unionized environment.

You will ensure compliance with CBAs, coordinate onboarding and offboarding, and generate routine HR and payroll reports while maintaining confidentiality and handling multiple priorities. The role requires strong communication, meticulous organization, and the ability to work with managers and union representatives.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3–5 years of HR and payroll administration experience in a unionized environment.
• Knowledge of CBAs, union grievance processes, contract interpretation, seniority systems, wage administration, and payroll compliance.
• Knowledge of payroll processes, employee benefits, and employment practices.
• Experience with HRIS and payroll systems preferred.
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate weekly payroll submissions and review payroll reports for accuracy.
• Serve as the primary payroll contact for employees and management.
• Prepare and submit certified payroll reports as required.
• Oversee payroll processing for union and non-union employees with accurate wage rates and deductions.
• Maintain compliance with payroll regulations and CBAs through audits and reporting.
• Manage employee onboarding, records, and HR documentation.
• Support recruiting, hiring, development, and offboarding activities.
• Answer employee questions regarding policies, payroll, and benefits.
• Assist managers with performance management and employee relations.
• Coordinate employee benefit enrollments and open enrollment activities.
• Generate HR, payroll, and workforce reports.
• Maintain employee data within HR and payroll systems.
