Job summary

Focus is seeking an Human Resources Manager to oversee HR functions including employee relations, labor relations, recruitment, performance management, and compliance. The role acts as liaison with union representatives to ensure adherence to CBAs and fair HR practices, while supporting training, investigations, and HR strategy alignment.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of progressive HR experience, strong labor law knowledge, and excellent negotiation and communication skills, with proficiency

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, or related field; master's preferred.
• 5+ years HR experience with at least 2 years in a unionized environment.
• Strong understanding of labor law and administering CBAs.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

Responsibilities

• Administer and interpret CBAs and serve as primary HR contact for union matters.
• Partner with union representatives to address grievances and negotiate terms.
• Advise managers on HR policies, union contract provisions, and disciplinary procedures.
• Schedule and manage training for all employees to avoid gaps.
• Support labor negotiations and contract administration.
• Conduct investigations involving bargaining unit employees.
• Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with union workforce needs.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws (FMLA, FLSA, EEO, NLRA).
• Lead or assist with talent acquisition, onboarding, training, and development.
• Maintain confidential employee records and HRIS data.
• Collaborate with payroll and benefits for union contracts.
• Monitor workplace culture and morale and identify engagement improvements.
• Prepare HR metrics and reports on grievances and workforce trends.
