Job summary

May Center in Western Massachusetts is seeking an experienced Human Resources Generalist to manage HR operations for our Western MA schools. The role requires weekly travel between Chicopee and West Springfield and supports onboarding through offboarding.

You will coordinate onboarding activities, employee training related to MAP, Healthcare, and Clinical requirements, HR transactions, leaves and workers’ compensation, and employee relations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• SHRM or PHR certification preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of human resources experience.
• Good working knowledge of labor and employment laws and practices.
• Workplace investigation experience required.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate HR activities that guide and support employees throughout the employment lifecycle, from onboarding through offboarding.
• Coordinate onboarding activities to support new employees as they transition into the organization.
• Coordinate employee training related to MAP, Healthcare, and Clinical requirements.
• Process position and compensation changes, upload employee documentation, and review and approve new hire forms and offer letters.
• Coordinate activities related to leaves of absence (LOA) and workers' compensation (WC).
• Respond to general HR questions and provide guidance on HR processes and resources.
• Investigate employee incidents, concerns, and complaints, and support conflict resolution through conflict management and mediation.
• Guide managers in addressing employee incidents, managing performance, and applying progressive discipline.
• Support employee engagement through the New Hire Check-in Program, site visits, and employee forums.
• Coordinate offboarding activities to support employees through the conclusion of their employment.
