Job summary

MHA (Mental Health Association) is seeking an HR Generalist to oversee onboarding compliance, assist with HRIS maintenance, and provide comprehensive employee support. This on-site role in Chicopee, MA requires strong policy knowledge and accurate recordkeeping.

Responsibilities include managing leaves of absence, background checks, and employee inquiries, while ensuring compliance with applicable laws and internal policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field preferred.
• 1+ year of HR experience preferred.
• Detail-oriented with strong documentation skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate onboarding compliance activities including background check processing and verification of new-hire requirements.
• Serve as primary contact for employee support inquiries on HR processes and documentation.
• Maintain knowledge of local, state, and federal employment laws and support compliance.
• Guide managers on fair HR practices and assist in a compliant workplace environment.
• Maintain HR compliance and prepare for external audits as scheduled.
