Job summary

Family Farm and Home is seeking a Human Resources Generalist to support employment, recruiting, onboarding, and HR data management at our Michigan-based organization. You will help ensure smooth HR operations across stores and corporate teams.

The role requires strong communication, organization, confidentiality, and experience with HR systems and personnel records. You will collaborate with managers to support benefits, policies, and daily HR inquiries while upholding service standards.

Qualifications

• The Human Resources Generalist will have an understanding of general human resources practices and procedures.
• They must have good oral and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities are required.
• A broad range of computer skills is necessary, including the ability to work with HR systems and database programs.
• The Human Resources Generalist must maintain confidentiality, have strong problem-solving and customer service skills, and be a team player.

Responsibilities

• Promote Family Farm and Home mission statement and family values.
• Monitor the HR group email and respond to or direct team member and manager questions and requests.
• Review and process new hire paperwork and ensure required information is complete and accurate.
• Monitor onboarding reports and follow up with managers regarding incomplete or outstanding onboarding requirements.
• Process team member terminations and ensure required information and documentation is complete.
• Maintain and organize team member personnel files and obtain missing documentation as needed.
• Assist with recruiting and hiring activities and provide related support to managers.
• Provide basic HR system support to team members and managers, including password resets, login issues, access questions and other system-related issues.
• Assist team members and managers with general HR questions regarding benefits, employment, company policies, processes and available resources.
• Direct questions or concerns requiring additional review to the appropriate member of the Human Resources or Payroll team.
• Prepare, maintain and monitor Human Resources reports, including onboarding, anniversary, and recruiting reports.
• Protect the organization’s value by keeping information confidential.
• All other duties as assigned by supervisor or company official.
