Job summary

Onondaga Community College in Syracuse, NY is recruiting for an HR Generalist to support the HR team and serve as the main contact for retirees' benefits. The role also covers onboarding for students, interns and volunteers, plus maintenance of front desk operations and HR file rooms.

The position requires a Bachelor's degree in HR or related field with 3 years of HR experience, familiarity with employment laws, and strong discretion.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in HR, business, psychology, or related field with at least 3 years HR experience.
• Familiarity with employment laws and regulations.
• Ability to handle sensitive matters with discretion.

Responsibilities

• Serve as main contact for retirees' benefits and onboarding for students, interns and volunteers.
• Assist with recruitment, onboarding, and benefits administration.
• Assist with completion of I-9s and ensure compliance with policies and laws.
• Maintain HR documents, files, and confidentiality of information.
• Coordinate onboarding/offboarding for employees and student workers.
• Support benefits administration and COBRA/retiree processes.
