The Pivot Group Network is sourcing an HR Generalist for the Muskegon area. This on-site role supports employee relations, attendance, safety, and payroll questions for manufacturing clients in the region.

Ideal candidates have a Bachelor’s degree in HR or related field and up to 4 years of HR experience, with knowledge of federal and state employment law and HRIS systems. Networking with regional manufacturers is a key component of this role.

Job Description:

HR Generalist | Muskegon, MI

Salary Range: $53,000 – $80,000 depending on experience

This posting covers HR Generalist opportunities with manufacturers based in and around Muskegon in Muskegon County, within about 30 minutes of the city, including Muskegon Heights and North Muskegon.

The Opportunity

Usual Responsibilities

Assist with employee relations matters, investigations, and documentation.
Administer attendance tracking, leave of absence requests, and FMLA paperwork.
Support safety program administration and incident reporting.
Help prepare HR metrics and reports for plant leadership.
Serve as first point of contact for employee questions about policies, benefits, and payroll.
Support recruiting for hourly production and skilled trades roles, including screening and scheduling interviews.

Recommended Qualifications

Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work on site across multiple shifts.
Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business, or related field.
to 4 years of HR experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
Working knowledge of federal and state employment law.
Experience with HRIS systems and timekeeping software.

Bonus Qualifications

Prior experience in union or non-union production environments.
PHR or SHRM-CP certification.
Bilingual English and Spanish.
Experience with hourly workforce recruiting and high-volume hiring.
Familiarity with OSHA recordkeeping and safety compliance.
