A well-established industrial manufacturer is seeking an experienced, self-directed HR Generalist to serve as the primary onsite HR partner for its Houston operation. This role requires someone who is comfortable making sound HR decisions independently while partnering closely with operations leadership and a remote HR Director.

What You Will Do
- Serve as the primary onsite HR resource, exercising sound judgment and resolving day-to-day HR matters independently while collaborating with remote HR leadership as needed.
- Support all aspects of the employee lifecycle, including recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, performance management support, and offboarding.
- Lead full-cycle recruiting for hourly and professional positions by partnering with hiring managers, staffing agencies, and recruiting firms.
- Process payroll and support benefits administration, leave management, and employee HR programs.
- Maintain employee records and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and company policies.
- Partner directly with supervisors and managers to investigate, resolve, and provide guidance on employee relations issues while making timely, well-informed HR recommendations.
- Generate HR reports and maintain accurate workforce data using the HRIS.
- Help coordinate employee engagement initiatives and support a positive workplace culture.
- Build strong working relationships with employees and leaders throughout the operation.
- Manage multiple priorities independently while providing responsive HR support across the site.
What You Bring
- 3+ years of experience in an HR Generalist or HR Specialist role.
- Experience managing full-cycle recruiting as part of a broader HR position.
- Manufacturing, industrial, distribution, or other operational environment experience preferred.
- Working knowledge of payroll, benefits administration, employee relations, compliance, and employment law.
- Experience using HRIS platforms such as Dayforce, Paycom, Paylocity, or similar systems.
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build credibility across all levels of an organization.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and make confident HR decisions in a manufacturing environment with limited day-to-day supervision.
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or similar certification is a plus.
- Experience serving as the primary HR contact for a manufacturing, industrial, or distribution facility is strongly preferred.
