Job summary

Forgent Power Solutions, Inc. in Dayton, MN seeks an HR Generalist to manage day-to-day HR operations including recruitment, onboarding, performance management and employee relations.

You will support payroll, policy enforcement and training compliance while partnering with managers to resolve workplace issues on site.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 3+ years of Human Resources experience preferred.
  • SHRM-CP preferred.
  • Manufacturing industry experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure adherence to employment law and compliance with FMLA, ADA, FLSA and related laws.
  • Design, implement, and administer HR policies; respond to inquiries.
  • Collaborate with managers to resolve employment-related issues.
  • Assist with disciplinary meetings, terminations and investigations.
  • Ensure union reporting is accurate and timely.
  • Maintain personnel records (hires, promotions, terminations).
  • Process biweekly payroll and related items.
  • Manage leaves of absence for all employees.
  • Track mandatory and non-mandatory training and work assessments.
  • Recruit, interview and hire for open positions.
  • Stay updated on HR trends, regulatory changes, and technologies.
  • Spend time on the production floor to be accessible to employees.

The HR Generalist is responsible for the day-to-day HR operations, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, employee relations, benefits administration, and policy enforcement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure adherence to employment law, as well as compliance with FMLA, ADA, FLSA, and other applicable areas of employment law.
  • Assist in designing, implementing, and administering Human Resources policies and responding to inquiries related to such policies.
  • Work with department managers to resolve employment-related issues.
  • Assist with employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
  • Ensure all union reporting is accurate and timely.
  • Maintain records of personnel transactions such as hires, promotions, transfers, performance reviews, and terminations.
  • Process biweekly payroll and handle all items related to the payroll process.
  • Manage leave of absences for all employees.
  • Review, track, and document compliance with mandatory and non‑mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments.
  • Recruit, interview, and facilitate hiring for open positions.
  • Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
  • Regularly spend time on the Production Floor to be available to employees.
Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field.
Preferred
  • 3+ years of Human Resource experience.
  • SHRM-CP.
  • Experience in the Manufacturing Industry.
