Responsibilities

  • Partner with leaders and employees to provide HR guidance across ER, staffing, benefits, training, performance management, and organizational development.
  • Administer HR policies and ensure effective implementation.
  • Develop and maintain employee handbooks and HR policies.
  • Identify staffing needs and develop strategic workforce plans for client groups.
  • Manage full-cycle recruiting for exempt, non-exempt and other positions.
  • Coordinate new employee orientations and onboarding initiatives.
  • Provide guidance on compensation, performance management, and development programs.
  • Support benefits administration including questions, claims, changes, invoicing and communications.
  • Coach managers and employees on employee relations matters including performance concerns and terminations.

Job description

The HR Generalist will serve as a trusted HR partner to assigned client groups, providing support across employee relations, talent acquisition, benefits, compensation, training, compliance, and organizational development. This role will work closely with leaders and employees to understand business needs, provide thoughtful HR guidance, and implement programs and initiatives that support organizational goals.

The ideal candidate will be a collaborative, approachable HR professional who can balance day-to-day employee needs with broader HR priorities and business objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Partner with leaders and employees to provide guidance and support across a broad range of human resources matters, including employee relations, staffing, benefits, training, performance management, and organizational development.
  • Administer and support HR policies, programs, procedures, and processes, ensuring they are consistently communicated and effectively implemented.
  • Assist with the development and maintenance of employee handbooks, HR policies, procedures, and related documentation.
  • Partner with leadership to identify staffing needs and develop strategic workforce and staffing plans for assigned client groups.
  • Manage full-cycle recruiting activities for exempt, non-exempt, temporary, and other assigned positions, including sourcing, interviewing, selection, and onboarding.
  • Coordinate and conduct new employee orientations and support onboarding initiatives to ensure a positive employee experience.
  • Provide guidance and support related to compensation, performance management, and employee development programs.
  • Support benefits administration, including employee questions, claims resolution, benefit changes, invoice review, and communication of benefit information.
  • Provide coaching and guidance to managers and employees on employee relations matters, including performance concerns, corrective action, terminations, and exit interviews.
  • Maintain accurate employee records within the HRIS and prepare HR reports and workforce-related analyses as needed.
  • Monitor and support compliance with applicable federal and state employment laws and regulations.
  • Partner with key business leaders on HR initiatives and priorities that support organizational and operational objectives.
  • Participate in client group meetings, leadership meetings, staff meetings, and business-related projects.
  • Assist with the development and administration of HR programs, processes, and guidelines designed to align employees with organizational goals.
  • Support organizational development initiatives, employee engagement efforts, career development programs, and other talent-related initiatives.
  • Assist with maintaining organizational charts, employee directories, and other HR documentation.
  • Evaluate HR programs, processes, and results against established goals and make recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Maintain a positive and collaborative work environment through effective communication and strong relationships with employees, leaders, and business partners.
  • Support organizational quality, safety, and operational objectives.
  • Provide HR support across all shifts as needed.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • 3-5 years of progressive Human Resources experience, with experience supporting a manufacturing or industrial environment required.
  • PHR certification is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of HR practices, including employee relations, talent acquisition, benefits, compensation, performance management, employee development, and employment compliance.
  • Experience partnering with leaders and employees in a manufacturing or production setting, with an understanding of the unique needs and challenges of a plant or operations environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with employees and leaders at all levels of an organization.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with the ability to establish trust and serve as a credible HR partner.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive employee information with professionalism, discretion, and sound judgment.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills with the ability to assess situations and provide practical HR guidance.
  • Ability to work collaboratively while also operating independently and taking initiative.
  • Flexibility to provide HR support across multiple shifts as business needs require.
