Job summary

Downtown Women’s Center seeks an HR Generalist to administer HR plans, maintain compliance, and support recruitment and onboarding. The role partners with the HR Manager to ensure fair, legally compliant practices across the organization.

The ideal candidate has at least 2 years in HR, a degree in HRM/Business/Psychology, and may hold SHRM/PHR credentials. This is a full-time, primarily on-site position with hybrid options and strong benefits.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of experience in a similar human resources position.
• PHR/SPHR, or SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) credential preferred.
• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in HRM, Business, Psychology, or equivalent, preferred.

Responsibilities

• Administers HR plans and procedures for all personnel and assists in policy development.
• Stays informed on HR trends and legal requirements, recommending policy changes as needed.
• Supports recruitment and onboarding activities and collaborates with the HR team.
• Conducts confidential investigations into employee grievances and workplace incidents.
• Coordinates leave of absence and benefits communications with staff and payroll.
