Job summary

HL Mando Corporation is seeking an HR Generalist to support employee relations, compliance, recruitment, onboarding, and performance management in a fast-paced environment.

The role involves coordinating leave, audits, onboarding, and HR data analytics while partnering with leadership to drive a positive, inclusive culture. Prior immigration knowledge is preferred; independence and confidentiality are essential.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3–5 years HR experience.
  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
  • Knowledge of immigration and visa processes preferred.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with labor/employment laws and internal policies.
  • Coordinate employee leave requests and audits.
  • Assist with employee relations, investigations, and terminations.
  • Oversee onboarding, orientation, and I-9 documentation.
  • Facilitate performance management and coaching.
  • Maintain HR data integrity and generate monthly analytics.
  • Support recruitment and hiring in collaboration with managers.
  • Track training participation and compliance using HRIS/LMS.
  • Coordinate immigration processes with counsel.

Job Summary:

The HR Generalist is a key member of the Human Resources team, responsible for supporting all areas of HR including employee relations, legal and regulatory compliance, performance management, leave of absences, recruitment, onboarding, training, and policy administration.

This role requires a proactive professional who thrives in a fast-paced, multitasking environment and demonstrates strong initiative in improving processes, enhancing efficiency, and ensuring full compliance with employment laws. The HR Generalist supports both employees and leadership while fostering a positive and inclusive culture.

Key Responsibilities
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with labor/employment laws, regulations, and internal policies to minimize risk. Participate in internal audits.
  • Leave of Absences: Coordinate employee leave requests (e.g., FMLA, personal, disability, ESTA), ensuring compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Employee Relations: Assist in managing team member relations by responding to questions, issues, or concerns. Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations and investigations.
  • Onboarding: Coordinate and schedule new hire orientation, conduct orientation for all newly hired employees; collect new hire paperwork, complete I9s, and maintain records as needed.
  • Performance Management: Facilitate performance management activities, including coaching managers on effective feedback, performance improvement plans (PIPs), and development conversations.
  • HR Data Analytics: Responsible for maintaining data accuracy within HR systems and compiling data analytics on a monthly cadence.
  • Recruiting: Interviews and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
  • Training: Track, document, and report on training participation and compliance using HRIS/LMS systems, maintaining accurate records for audits and regulatory purposes.
  • Immigration & Compliance: Partner with outside immigration counsel to support H-1B, PERM, and other employment-based immigration processes, ensuring timely document preparation and internal coordination.
Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum 3-5 years of previous or related experience in the HR function
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university
  • Knowledge of immigration and visa processes is strongly preferred
  • Prefer HR professional capable of working independently with minimal supervision

Working Conditions:

This position typically operates in an office environment.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to sit for extended periods while working at a computer.

Not Eligible for Hybrid Remote Work Schedule
