Job summary

Marshall Investigative Group LLC is seeking a seasoned Human Resources Generalist to join our team in Park Ridge, IL. The role focuses on employee relations, investigations, benefits administration, compliance, and HR systems with ADP Workforce Now.

The ideal candidate has at least five years of HR experience, strong communication skills, and a bachelor’s degree. Travel may be required to support HR initiatives and audits.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of progressive Human Resources experience.
• Strong background in employee relations, investigations, and conflict resolution.
• Demonstrated experience in coaching, training, and leading performance improvement conversations.
• Proficiency with ADP Workforce Now preferred.
• Working knowledge of Human Resources compliance, federal and state labor laws.
• Exceptional organizational skills, with the ability to inventory, catalog, normalize, standardize, and manage HR files with ongoing governance.
• Strong attention to detail, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
• PHR or SHRM-CP certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the first point of contact for employee escalations and workplace concerns, conducting timely and thorough investigations as needed.
• Partner with Performance Team assisting with goal management, training, and employee communication.
• Author employee monthly employee newsletters with the HR Team.
• Maintain accurate and compliant HR records; create and oversee a structured file management system ensuring consistency and data governance.
• Partner with managers on employee relations matters, providing guidance aligned with company policy and employment law.
• Support employee engagement programs and initiatives that foster a positive and inclusive workplace culture.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and company policies.
• Utilize ADP Workforce Now for reporting, employee record maintenance, and process optimization.
• Support recruitment and onboarding efforts when needed, ensuring a seamless candidate and new-hire experience.
• Participate in HR audits, policy updates, and process improvement initiatives.
• Perform other HR-related duties and special projects as assigned.
