Job summary

XPO is seeking a Human Resources Generalist in Illinois to support employee relations, HR transactions, and policy administration. You will collaborate with a shared services team, ensure compliance with state and federal laws, and help deliver benefits information.

You will assist hiring managers, participate in onboarding, develop HR programs, and promote a values-driven work environment. Bachelor’s degree and one year of HR experience are required; travel 25–50% may be needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent related work or military experience.
• 1 year of experience as a Human Resources Generalist or equivalent.
• Experience with planning, organizing, and leadership skills.
• Experience with FMLA, LOA and other state and federal employment laws.
• Experience supporting employee relations and HR initiatives, handling confidential information.
• Functional knowledge of payroll software, HRIS, and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Provide employee relations guidance to employees and management.
• Oversee day-to-day HR transactions in collaboration with a shared services team.
• Ensure compliance with state and federal laws and communicate updated HR policies.
• Deliver benefits information and enforce fair application of policies.
• Assist in investigating employee-related issues and resolve disputes.
• Support hiring managers with interviewing, offers, onboarding, and training processes.
• Develop and implement HR policies or information.
• Support a values-driven environment through employee engagement activities.
