Job summary

Helpful Hearts Health Services Inc. is seeking an HR Generalist to manage the employee lifecycle, from recruitment through separation, at our Owings Mills, MD site.

You will handle background checks, pre-employment documentation, payroll tasks, and maintain confidential personnel files. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in HR or related field, 2+ years HR experience, and familiarity with Maryland DDA requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in HR, Business Administration or related field preferred.
• 2+ years HR experience preferred.
• Knowledge of Maryland DDA requirements and provider regulations.
• Experience maintaining confidential personnel files and compliance documentation.
• Strong organizational, writing and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage the employee lifecycle from recruitment through separation.
• Coordinate background checks, employment verifications, references, and pre-employment documentation.
• Maintain accurate and confidential personnel files.
• Process payroll.
• Track staff training and ensure compliance with training requirements.
• Support Maryland DDA regulations, policies, and provider requirements for employees.
• Maintain documentation for DDA surveys, audits, and compliance monitoring.
• Coordinate new-hire orientation and required staff training.
• Assist leadership with personnel and compliance matters.
• Support employee performance evaluations and improvement plans.
