Job summary

Baker Commodities, Inc. is seeking an HR Generalist to support the Northwest regional team and corporate HR in Seattle. You’ll advise managers on employee relations, administer leaves, and coordinate recruitment, onboarding, and records management to ensure legal compliance across WA and OR.

This role requires a Bachelor's in HR and 5+ years in HR, with strong confidentiality, communication, and organizational skills. Travel is minimal, and benefits are competitive.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in HR management or a related field.
• Minimum 4 years HR experience; 5+ preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Experience with HRIS and benefits databases.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive info.
• Knowledge of federal/state regulations (FMLA, ACA, COBRA, etc.).
• Experience in a union environment preferred.
• Strong communication and organization skills.
• Less than 25% travel.

Responsibilities

• Advise managers on employee relations, performance, discipline and policy interpretation.
• Guide investigations, workplace concerns and documentation.
• Coordinate Northwest recruitment and staffing with Corporate Recruiting.
• Facilitate onboarding and new-hire orientation.
• Maintain employee records in compliance with policies and laws.
• Administer leave programs including FMLA and PFML.
• Support payroll deductions, benefits elections and status changes.
• Reconcile union benefit statements and dues; liaison with unions.
• Assist with interpretation of CBAs with HR leadership.
• Ensure compliance with EEO, pay transparency and wage laws.
