Averill Hospitality seeks a Human Resources Generalist to join our Whitefish team. You will manage daily HR duties, assist employees and management on benefits, payroll, onboarding, policies and compliance.

You will onboard new hires, maintain personnel records, coordinate benefits, and support disciplinary actions, OSHA reporting, and employee relations activities at multiple Whitefish properties. This role is on-site in Montana.

Qualifications

  • High School graduate or equivalent required; college degree or certification preferred with emphasis in Human Resources.
  • 3–4 years of experience in Human Resources; PHR or SHRM certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with internal and external HR inquiries or requests.
  • Assist payroll with payroll, PTO approvals, and entering pay rate changes.
  • Onboard employees, background checks, new hire paperwork, handbook policies, and orientation.
  • Maintain personnel-related data in paper and electronic records.
  • Coordinate open enrollment for internal benefits with insurance providers.
  • Liaise with Payroll, Benefits, and Training departments.
  • Support employee relations activities, recognition, and morale.
  • Assist in HR audits and regulatory compliance.

Averill Hospitality is seeking a Human Resources Generalist to join our team.

PRINCIPLERESPONSIBILITIES AND POSITION PURPOSE:

Manages daily administrativeduties for the Human Resources department. Acts as a key contact for employeesand management on benefits, payroll, onboarding, polices and compliance.

MAIN DUTIES ANDRESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Assist with all internal and external HR related inquiries orrequests
  • Assist payroll specialist with payroll, PTO approvals, enteringpay rate changes, position changes, new hires, and terms into systems
  • Onboard employees, background checks, new hire paperwork, handbookpolicies, and orientation
  • Maintaining records of personnel-related data in both paper andthe database and ensure all employment requirements are met
  • Process employee room requests
  • Fill out unemployment forms and employment verifications
  • Liaise with other departments or functions (payroll, benefits, trainingetc.)
  • Coordinating open enrollment for internal benefits, acting as aliaison between employees and insurance providers. Resolving benefits-relatedproblems, administering benefits plans, including mid-year enrollments,changes, and terminations
  • Upholds company policies by participating and leading disciplinaryaction, disputes and investigations
  • Processing Workman's Compensation claims and OSHA reporting
  • Assist HR Coordinator with J1 processes and procedures
  • Help track employee training
  • Attend appropriate meetings at all Whitefish properties
  • Attend local career fairs
  • Active member of the CORE Committee to engage Team, Guest and Community
  • Assist in employee relations activities, recognition, and morale
SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLSAND ABILITY

  • Ability to coordinate andcooperate with other departments
  • Strongability in using HRIS systems and MS Office (MS Excel and MS PowerPoint, etc.)

  • Demonstratesthe ability to perform effectively in high-stress environments, adapt quicklyto unexpected changes, and manage demanding workloads while maintainingcomposure, focus, and professionalism.
SUPPORTIVEFUNCTIONS

Inaddition to performance of the essential functions, this position may berequired to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, withthe percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the Directorof Human Resource based upon the requirements of the company.

  • Participate in industry organizations
  • Maintain an open line of communicationbetween guests, employees, and management
  • Assist in any other duties as needed. Thisposition may be required to perform other additional duties assigned by the Directorof Human Resource
QUALIFICATIONSTANDARDS
EDUCATION

High School graduate or equivalent required. College degree or certification is preferred with emphasis in Human Resources.

EXPERIENCE/ LICENSES OR CERTIFICATES
  • 3-4 years' experience in Human Resources.
  • PHR or SHRM Certification
