Job summary

Qualifications

  • 1-3 years of financial experience.
  • Experience supporting recruitment, employee relations, or performance management preferred.

  • Knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer-service skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate full-cycle recruitment activities including posting, screening, scheduling interviews, and facilitating hiring.
  • Facilitate onboarding and orientation; verify pre-employment documentation.
  • Support employee engagement initiatives to improve retention and culture.
  • Serve as first point of contact for policy, benefits, and workplace questions; escalate when needed.
  • Conduct benefits orientation and manage changes with the benefits administrator and providers.
  • Assist leaders with coaching conversations and corrective actions.
  • Oversee evaluations and provide guidance on performance development plans.
  • Support annual compensation processes.
  • Conduct investigations and advise the CEO on resolutions.
  • Develop and maintain employee handbook policies and HR procedures.
  • Create workplace standards and best practices aligning with goals.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws.
  • Maintain personnel files, HR records, and DHS licensing requirements.
  • Assist with training and professional development; track DHS hours.
  • Participate in special HR projects as assigned.
  • Other duties as required.

Job description

The Human Resources Generalist supports the child development center's mission by overseeing day-to-day human resources activities and helping create a positive, compliant, and engaging workplace. This role is responsible for recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, performance management support, policy development, and employee communications. The HR Generalist serves as a resource to employees and leaders while ensuring consistency with organizational policies, employment laws, and best practices.

What You'll Do
  • Coordinate full-cycle recruitment efforts including posting positions, screening candidates, scheduling interviews, and facilitating the hiring process.
  • Facilitate new hire onboarding and orientation programs. Ensure completion of pre-employment, new hire documentation, and employment verification.
  • Support employee engagement initiatives that promote retention and workplace culture.

  • Conduct new employee benefits orientation, assist with enrollment processes, and manage changes to employee benefit selections. Act as a liaison to the third-party benefits administrator and benefits providers.
