Responsibilities

  • Support the full employee lifecycle from recruitment and onboarding through offboarding.
  • Partner with managers on employee relations, performance issues, coaching, and workplace concerns.
  • Assist with recruiting, interviews, background checks, and hiring processes.
  • Coordinate new-hire orientation and onboarding activities.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and HR documentation.
  • Administer and communicate company policies, procedures, and employee programs.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and Texas employment laws and healthcare regulations.
  • Assist with performance reviews and employee development initiatives.
  • Respond to employee questions regarding HR policies, benefits, payroll, leave, and other matters.
  • Collaborate with payroll and benefits to resolve issues.
  • Track required employee documentation, certifications, and training.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Prepare HR reports and assist leadership with workforce data.
  • Support employee engagement, retention, recognition, and culture initiatives.
  • Stay current on HR best practices and regulations.

Position Summary

The HR Generalist will be responsible for a broad range of human resources functions, including employee relations, recruiting and onboarding, HR administration, performance management, compliance, employee engagement, and policy implementation. The ideal candidate is organized, approachable, discreet, solutions-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced healthcare or human-services environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the full employee lifecycle, from recruitment and onboarding through offboarding.
  • Partner with managers on employee relations matters, performance issues, coaching, and workplace concerns.
  • Assist with recruiting, interviewing, background checks, reference checks, and hiring processes.
  • Coordinate new-hire orientation and onboarding activities.

  • Support compliance with federal and Texas employment laws and applicable healthcare/human-services requirements.
  • Assist with performance reviews, corrective action, and employee development initiatives.
  • Respond to employee questions regarding HR policies, benefits, payroll, leave, and other workplace matters.
  • Partner with payroll and benefits providers to resolve employee issues.
  • Track required employee documentation, certifications, training, and other compliance requirements.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive employee and organizational information.
  • Prepare HR reports and assist leadership with workforce data and HR metrics.
  • Support employee engagement, retention, recognition, and culture initiatives.
  • Stay current on HR best practices and applicable employment regulations.
  • Perform other HR-related duties as assigned.

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • 3+ years of progressive HR experience; experience in healthcare, home care, behavioral health, intellectual/developmental disabilities services, or another regulated environment is strongly preferred.
  • Working knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
  • Strong employee-relations and communication skills.
  • Excellent organization and attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
  • Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution abilities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and HRIS systems.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with employees and leadership.
Preferred
  • SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification.
  • Experience supporting a multi-location or hourly workforce.
  • Experience with HRIS, applicant tracking, and/or electronic personnel records systems.
