Job summary

Ultimate Staffing Services in Minneapolis, MN is seeking an HR Generalist to partner with employees and leadership in a unionized manufacturing setting. You will focus on employee relations, recruiting, onboarding, performance management, and serving as a trusted resource for staff and managers alike.

The role is 100% onsite with a Monday–Friday schedule (overtime as needed). Compensation is USD32–34 per hour, with comprehensive benefits upon permanent hire and a collaborative, family-oriented

Qualifications

• Associate degree in a business-related field preferred with at least 2 years of HR experience
• Candidates without a degree should have 3+ years of HR-related experience
• Experience supporting employee relations, recruiting, onboarding, and HR administration
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to handle confidential information professionally
• Strong organizational and follow-through skills
• SHRM-CP certification preferred but not required
• Experience supporting a union workforce is a plus

Responsibilities

• Recruit for production and union positions using staffing agencies, job boards, and other sourcing methods
• Coordinate onboarding and lead new hire orientation programs
• Maintain employee personnel files and HR documentation
• Track attendance, PTO requests, and related employee records
• Review timecards and support payroll accuracy
• Assist managers with performance reviews, coaching documentation, and performance improvement plans
• Maintain employee training records and training matrices
• Coordinate employee development and training opportunities
• Serve as a liaison between employees and management regarding policies, benefits, attendance, and workplace concerns
• Support investigations, disciplinary processes, and employee relations matters
• Assist with workers' compensation administration
• Help ensure compliance with federal, state, local, and labor regulations
• Provide administrative support to operations and leadership teams
