Job summary

H Mart is seeking an HR professional to serve as the primary contact for designated offices and factory/retail departments. You will ensure policies, employee handbook, and labor laws are applied consistently and fairly, and you will manage investigations and disciplinary processes with empathy.

The role includes onboarding/offboarding, maintaining records, supporting benefits enrollment, Open Enrollment, and coaching managers on performance and conflicts.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of progressive HR experience in a generalist, HRBP, or similar role, preferably in a multi-site environment including manufacturing or factory settings.
• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
• Strong working knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices; proficient in policy application and communications

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary HR point of contact for designated office, factory and/or retail departments.
• Communicate and enforce HR policies, procedures, and the employee handbook.
• Handle employee relations with empathy and fairness; conduct investigations and document findings.
• Support disciplinary actions with fact gathering, manager coaching, and compliant documentation.
• Maintain accurate employee records and ensure labor law compliance.
• Coordinate onboarding with HR team and conduct new hire orientation.
• Manage offboarding, exit interviews, and asset collection; system deactivation.
• Collaborate with safety and compliance teams on factory HR practices.
• Provide coaching on performance, disciplinary actions, and interpersonal conflicts.
• Maintain confidentiality and consistent policy application.
• Assist with benefits enrollment, changes, and inquiries; support Open Enrollment communications

Job description

Responsibilities but not limited to:

• Serve as the primary HR point of contact for designated office, factory and/or retail departments/companies
• Ensure HR policies, procedures, and employee handbook are communicated and consistently applied
• Handle employee relations matters with empathy, discretion, and fairness; conduct thorough investigations and document findings as necessary
• Manage and support disciplinary action processes by gathering facts, advising managers on appropriate steps, preparing documentation, and ensuring fairness and compliance
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records, ensuring compliance with all applicable labor laws and internal policies
• Coordinate onboarding in collaboration with other HR team members including new hire orientation
• Manage offboarding processes, including exit interviews, termination paperwork, asset collection, and system deactivation
• Collaborate with safety and compliance teams to ensure factory-related HR practices meet internal and legal standards
• Provide coaching and day-to-day support to managers and employees on HR-related matters including performance improvement, disciplinary actions, and interpersonal conflicts
• Maintain strict confidentiality and ensure consistent application of policies
• Assist employees with benefit enrollment, changes, and inquiries
• Support Open Enrollment communication

Qualifications / Skills:

• 3 -5 years of progressive HR experience in a generalist, HRBP, or similar role, preferably in a multi-site environment including manufacturing or factory settings
• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
• Strong working knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to build trust with diverse teams
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite and HRIS systems (UKG Pro)
• Bilingual in Korean and English preferred
