Job description

We are seeking a motivated, bilingual (English/Spanish), and employee-focused Human Resources Generalist. This role serves as a key business partner to plant leadership and employees by supporting a wide range of human resources functions including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, benefits administration, compliance, training, and workplace safety initiatives. The ideal candidate is proactive, approachable, adaptable, and passionate about fostering a positive, safe, and engaged workforce within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Partner closely with plant leadership to support all aspects of talent management, employee engagement, and workplace culture.
  • Collaborate with the Plant Manager to assess staffing needs and develop effective recruiting strategies.
  • Manage full-cycle recruitment efforts for hourly manufacturing positions and coordinate temporary labor staffing.
  • Conduct interviews, extend offers, and coordinate hiring activities to ensure workforce needs are met.
  • Facilitate new hire onboarding and orientation programs to support successful employee integration and engagement.
  • Serve as a trusted resource for employees and supervisors, addressing employee relations concerns and escalating issues when appropriate.
  • Support the administration and communication of employee benefits programs and related updates.
  • Coordinate Workers' Compensation claims and assist employees throughout the process.
  • Prepare and process employment-related documentation including new hires, promotions, transfers, compensation changes, and terminations.
  • Conduct wage and compensation analyses for hourly employees and provide recommendations to maintain market competitiveness.
  • Promote a positive employee relations environment by fostering open communication between supervisors and team members.
  • Maintain accurate personnel records and HR documentation in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Support training initiatives by coordinating and assisting with employee development and compliance-based training programs.
  • Assist with Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) programs, training, and employee communications.
  • Participate in plant safety audits and inspections to identify and address potential workplace hazards.
  • Support the development and reinforcement of a strong safety culture throughout the facility.
  • Provide HR guidance and support across multiple shifts within a 24/7 manufacturing environment.
  • Assist with special projects, reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives as assigned.
  • Maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive employee and organizational information.
Qualifications
  • Associate's degree required; Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • Bilingual fluency in both English and Spanish is required.
  • Previous Human Resources experience within a manufacturing or industrial environment preferred.
  • Knowledge of HR practices including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, benefits, compensation, and compliance.
  • Ability to work flexible hours and support a 24/7 manufacturing operation across multiple shifts.
  • Strong understanding of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Experience supporting employee relations issues and handling sensitive workplace matters with professionalism and discretion.
  • Familiarity with Workers' Compensation administration and leave management processes is preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively at all levels of the organization.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills, including the ability to de-escalate challenging situations.
  • Demonstrated sense of ownership, accountability, and initiative in driving tasks and projects to completion.
  • Ability to remain calm, resourceful, and responsive during urgent or emergency situations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Ability to work within a manufacturing environment, including walking the production floor and wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a commitment to building positive employee relationships and fostering an inclusive workplace culture.
