Automation Personnel Services is seeking an HR Generalist for LG Electronics in Huntsville, AL. The role focuses on administering employee leave programs, workers' compensation processes, and ensuring regulatory compliance.

You will be the main contact for associates, managers, medical providers, and third-party administrators on leave, accommodation, and return-to-work matters. Proactive partners with leaders and HRBP to guide FMLA, ADA, disability programs, and overall employee experience

Responsibilities

  • Administer all employee leave programs including FMLA, ADA, parental leave, military leave, personal leave, STD and LTD.
  • Serve as the primary contact for employees and managers regarding leave eligibility, requirements, and benefits.
  • Process leave requests and ensure timely completion of required documentation.
  • Track leave balances, certification deadlines, and leave status updates.
  • Coordinate communication with employees throughout the leave lifecycle.
  • Maintain confidentiality of medical information.
  • Partner with third-party leave administrators to manage claims and case status updates.
  • Monitor compliance with federal and state leave laws and company policies.
  • Facilitate the interactive process for accommodation requests under ADA.
  • Coordinate workplace modifications and transitional work arrangements when appropriate.
  • Ensure compliance with ADA and related regulations.
  • Manage Workers' Compensation claims from injury reporting through closure.
  • Coordinate medical treatment and report injuries to carriers.
  • Investigate incidents and maintain required documentation.
  • Track lost-time cases and restrictions.
  • Assist employees and supervisors with policies and benefits.

HR Generalist

Automation Personnel Services is looking for an HR Generalist for LG Electronics in Huntsville, AL. In this role, you will be responsible for

administering employee leave programs and Workers' Compensation processes while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and company policies. This role serves as the primary point of contact for associates, managers, medical providers, and third-party administrators regarding leave of absence cases, workplace injuries, accommodations, and return-to-work programs.

The HR Generalist partners closely with operational leaders, employees, and the Human Resources Business Partner to provide guidance on FMLA, ADA, Workers' Compensation, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, personal leaves, and other employee accommodation matters. The position plays a critical role in reducing risk, maintaining regulatory compliance, and promoting a positive employee experience throughout the leave and recovery process.

Pay Rate
$28 per hour

Schedule and Hours
8:00 am - 5:00 pm Monday through Friday (Hours may vary)

This position will be a 6 month assignment (could be extended due to business needs)

HR Generalist Duties and Responsibilities
Leave of Absence Administration
  • Administer all employee leave programs including FMLA, ADA, parental leave, military leave, personal leave, Short-Term Disability (STD), and Long-Term Disability (LTD).
  • Serve as the primary contact for employees and managers regarding leave eligibility, requirements, and available benefits.
  • Process leave requests and ensure timely completion of required documentation.
  • Track leave balances, certification deadlines, and leave status updates.
  • Coordinate communication with employees throughout the leave lifecycle.
  • Maintain accurate leave records while ensuring confidentiality of medical information.
  • Partner with third-party leave administrators to manage claims and case status updates.
  • Monitor compliance with federal and state leave laws and company policies.
ADA Accommodation Management
  • Facilitate the interactive process for employees requesting workplace accommodations.
  • Review medical documentation and collaborate with management regarding reasonable accommodation options.
  • Maintain records related to accommodation requests and determinations.
  • Coordinate workplace modifications and transitional work arrangements when appropriate.
  • Ensure compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and related regulations.
Workers' Compensation Administration
  • Manage Workers' Compensation claims from initial injury reporting through claim closure.
  • Ensure timely reporting of workplace injuries to insurance carriers and third-party administrators.
  • Coordinate medical treatment for injured employees.
  • Investigate workplace injury incidents and maintain required documentation.
  • Partner with Safety, Operations, and management teams to support injury prevention initiatives.
  • Track lost-time cases, restrictions, and claim activity.
  • Assist employees and supervisors in understanding Workers' Compensation policies, procedures, and benefits.
Return-to-Work Coordination
  • Coordinate fitness-for-duty evaluations and medical release documentation.
  • Work with managers to identify light-duty work assignments.
  • Monitor work restrictions and accommodation plans.
  • Facilitate successful reintegration of employees returning to work.
Reporting & Compliance
  • Prepare and maintain leave and Workers' Compensation reports and metrics.
  • Assist with data requests from corporate and regional leadership.
HR Generalist Qualifications and Requirements
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required.
Experience
  • 3-5 years of Human Resources experience required.
  • Experience administering FMLA, ADA, Workers' Compensation, and disability programs strongly preferred.
  • Experience working with third-party leave administrators and Workers' Compensation carriers preferred.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Thorough knowledge of FMLA, ADA, Workers' Compensation laws, and other employment regulations.
  • Strong understanding of leave administration and case management processes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience utilizing HRIS and case management systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple cases and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
