Job summary

Volunteers of America Los Angeles is seeking a People Relations Partner Associate II to support the HR team by handling daily employee relations needs and project work. You will work directly with program managers and staff, coaching and building relationships in a hands-on, front-line role within a dynamic nonprofit setting.

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
• Minimum two years of HR generalist work with 20+% dedicated time handling employee complaints, grievances, interactive processes, and disciplinary actions.
• Knowledge of California employment regulations and employment law considerations.

Responsibilities

• Provide employee relations support for assigned programs, answer questions, clarify policy, and make on-site visits to provide workplace support.
• Conduct workplace interviews and address employee concerns; act as liaison between program staff and HR department.
• Assist with compliance and program audits; support investigations and documentation.
