Job summary

Volunteers of America Los Angeles is seeking a People Relations Partner Associate II to support the HR team with day‑to‑day employee relations, coaching and policy communication. The role involves front‑line interaction with program managers and staff, on‑site visits, investigations, and documentation to ensure compliance and effective employee relations across programs in Los Angeles.

The position requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent, at least two years as an HR generalist, and the

Qualifications

• Must be able to pass a fingerprint clearance, background check, including criminal history, personal references, employment and education verifications
• Valid California driver license and access to dependable transportation with adequate insurance
• Ability to perform under circumstances of possible emotional stress and conflicts dealing with difficult, uncooperative, and potentially aggressive clients as VOALA serves the neediest of the needy in our programs which may include clients with homelessness, mental‑illness, substance abuse, recently released from incarceration and other challenges.

Responsibilities

• Provide employee relations support for assigned programs, answer questions, clarify policy, make on‑site visits to provide support in the workplace.
• Perform workplace interviews and address employee concerns; serve as a liaison between program staff and the HR department.
• Assist compliance and program audits
• Support the employee relations team with investigations, written warnings, and documentation
• Conducts limited investigations
• Review documentation to ensure it is complete and organized
• Other duties as required and is subject to change at any time.
