Job summary

Thread seeks an experienced Director of Human Resources in Baltimore to lead talent acquisition, organizational development, and HR operations. You will own end-to-end HR programs, partner with the EVP, and drive workforce strategies that support Thread’s mission and growth.

You will manage a small HR team, coach leaders, and ensure compliant, data-driven processes across recruitment, compensation, benefits, and employee relations—shaping a high-performing, values-driven workplace.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of progressive HR leadership experience in a fast-moving environment.
• Nonprofit or mission-driven experience preferred.
• Experience managing HR staff and programs hands-on.
• Strong knowledge of labor and employment law and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Lead full-cycle talent acquisition for staff and internship roles.
• Oversee organizational development and workforce planning in alignment with budget.
• Build HR analytics dashboards and use data to guide decisions.
• Manage compensation and benefits programs and HR policies.
• Counsel managers on employee relations, performance, and risks.
