Job summary

Thorlabs is seeking an HR Coordinator to support day-to-day HR operations for the Jessup, Maryland location, with weekly travel to Sterling, VA. This temporary role lasts about 6 to 12 months and requires 1–2 years of HR experience and a Bachelor's degree.

You will handle onboarding/offboarding, employee records, and basic staff support, while using MS Office tools and maintaining intranet data across Paychex, UKG and D365.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years HR experience.
• Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Support HR operations and onboarding/offboarding processes.
• Assist with recruitment and interview processes.
• Maintain employee information on HR systems (Paychex, UKG, D365).
• Provide customer service for employee requests.
• Travel to Sterling, VA at least weekly may be required.
