Job summary

Carriage House Nursing and Rehab in Bay City, MI is seeking a Human Resources Coordinator who is highly organized and detail-oriented. You will support payroll processing, benefits administration, compliance with federal and state regulations, and general HR operations.

You will handle I-9 compliance, benefit enrollment, leave processing, and maintain HRIS data while safeguarding confidentiality in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of computerized payroll and bookkeeping systems.
• Ability to communicate effectively with residents, family members, and all levels of the organization.
• Skilled in the use of computers and Microsoft Office suite of applications.
• Ability to be accurate, concise, and detail-oriented.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Bi-weekly payroll processing, including ensuring accurate pay rates and timely merit increases
• Present benefit plans to employees, explain changes, and facilitate enrollment/de-enrollment processes
• Order and distribute benefit/personnel supplies, including employee handbooks and enrollment forms
• Coordinate the I-9 process, including verifying new hire employment eligibility and ensuring compliance with INS regulations
• Post state and federal posters required by law in appropriate locations
• Assist employees with leave requests and ensure proper documentation is submitted
• Monitor employees on leave, track benefit payments, and produce weekly reports
• Ensure accurate employee information in HRIS, including social security number, job title, and FLSA status
• Serve as AffimVATive Action compiler for the facility
• Set up and maintain payroll records/files, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with policy and regulations
• Perform other tasks as assigned
