Job summary

The University of Texas at Austin’s Cockrell School of Engineering seeks a Human Resource Coordinator for the Aerospace Engineering and Engineering Mechanics department. This role handles HR appointments, onboarding, visa coordination, timekeeping, and compliance, serving as liaison to payroll and HR offices on campus.

Responsibilities include processing visiting scholars and graduate student appointments, advising on benefits, and maintaining confidential records in Workday and related systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and two years of experience in human resources, business administration, or related field.
• Ability to manage a high-volume, fast-paced environment with accuracy and deadlines.
• Demonstrated tact, diplomacy, discretion, and sound judgment for confidential matters.

Responsibilities

• Process HR appointments for visiting scholars, post-doctoral fellows, students, and research staff.
• Coordinate visa paperwork and onboarding, including background checks and policy briefings.
• Oversee timekeeping, separations, and compliance reporting to ensure university policies are followed.
• Maintain centralized personnel files and support recruitment activities.
• Assist the Department Director with administrative tasks and special projects.
